What is an Exercise Physiologist?

Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEP's) are University qualified allied health professionals that specialise in exercise interventions, especially for those with health conditions, injuries or other restrictions. The pathway to becoming an Exercise Physiologist involves an undergraduate bachelor of science, followed by a graduate diploma or masters degree in clinical exercise physiology. Along this pathway, we learn the most optimal ways to initiate, construct and maintain exercise programs for the purposes of managing health conditions and injuries.

What about the Exercise Physiologists at Regenerate?

At Regenerate, we are guided by evidence based practice and use the latest research to help inform our treatment as Exercise Physiologists. We take a holistic approach and realise that there are often multiple factors that need consideration when it comes to your health, which helps us steer clear of a one-size-fits-all system. We believe in listening to our clients so that we can empower them to take action towards their health and improve overall quality of life.

Conditions We Can Help With

We are well equipped to deliver fitness, strength and conditioning programs however specialise in more focused programs in the areas listed below.

Andrew

Owner/Managing Director

Exercise Physiologist (AEP)

Andrew graduated as an Exercise Physiologist in 2016 from The University of Notre Dame in Fremantle. The main reason he chose this career path was due to his extensive sporting background and injury experiences, along with a desire to promote physical and mental wellbeing to others. Since becoming an AEP, Andrew has enjoyed working with a diverse range of clientele and is particularly passionate about helping people through persistent/chronic pain and the many challenges that come with this. In doing so, he is guided by the most recent evidence based research to optimally assist his clients on their journey to a higher quality of life. Andrew is also particularly interested in neurological conditions and still enjoys creating sports-specific programs as well.

Kelly started working at Regenerate in 2012 and still very much enjoys working here. She has an interest in all areas of Exercise Physiology and how exercise helps improve the quality of people’s lives at a physical, emotional and psychological level.

Mike

Exercise Physiologist (AEP)

Mike graduated as an Exercise Physiologist in 2016 from The University of Notre Dame in Fremantle. Mike has been fortunate to experience a wide variety of roles in the Exercise Physiology industry including Clinical Rehabilitation, Workers Comp and Injury Prevention services. He has spent the majority of his career in the Remote Resource Sector, providing both preventative and rehabilitative services for the FIFO community in the Gold/Iron Ore and Oil and Gas industries both domestically and internationally. Mike grew up playing and watching most sports, but it was ultimately experiencing his own injuries and associated rehabilitation which led him to pursuing a career in Exercise Physiology. While his primary interests centre around musculoskeletal injury/rehab, he believes your greatest wealth is good health and that it forms the foundation of a life free of restriction.

Shania.png

Shania

As a dancer, Shania finds a lot of joy in moving her body and learning how to safely push herself beyond the limits she sets. Shania hopes to present people with the opportunity to find joy through movement, and challenge them to push themselves beyond what they believed they were capable of. Shania has worked with a wide array of clients and is excited to put her learnings into practice to provide people with the safest and best practice on their movement journey.

Bec is particularly interested in supporting individuals in areas such as mental health, sport specific strength and conditioning and cancer rehabilitation. She also enjoys working with youth populations to help them achieve their health, fitness and performance goals. Whether its guiding someone through recovery, improving athletic performance or empowering clients to become the best versions of themselves, Bec strives to make a meaningful impact on their health and wellbeing.
